Founded in 1930, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) is one of leading University in Ukraine. KNUTD has a distinct model of learning, strong research performance and a leading reputation for engagement with industry and business. The university is a leader in training specialists for light and chemical industries, fashion industry, business, artistic and technical modelling and design of industrial products, art, economics and consumer services, law, etc. It is one of the oldest technological institutions of higher education in the country.

The Faculty of Arts and Fashion is one of the leading faculties at the University. The mission of the faculty is to meet the needs in the training of competent specialists in the field of fine arts and fashion industry technologies; active participation in the personal development of each person, his upbringing, and improvement of abilities. Faculty offers 8 Bachelor`s and 5 Master`s study programs, 4 study programs for Ph.D. and Dr.Sc. degree. About 600 students are studying currently at all levels.

The faculty is the co-organizer of the annual International Competition of Young Fashion Designers "Pechersky Kashtany". The University has a successful Student Center of Fashion, Creative Ideas and Creativity, where students create promising collections and prepare for fashion competitions.

For more than 90 years, research from KNUTD has created a major impact on the national and international scientific community. The Faculty of Arts and Fashion is committed to strengthening positions for practical and life-changing research. Moreover, it strives to develop relations with the industry to achieve positive research outcomes. Faculty is publishing the quarterly scientific-practical journal “Індустрія моди. Fashion Industry” The International Scientific-Practical Conference in Textiles and Fashion “KyivTex&Fashion” is held yearly in October.
