Kaunas University of Technology
Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is the largest technical university in the Baltic States. More than 10.000 students study and more than 1.000 academic staff and researchers work at the university. It offers six main fields of study: technological, physical and social sciences, arts, humanities and biomedicine.
The university was established in 1922 and offered studies in textile engineering since 1932. All three levels of studies in textile and fashion engineering are available at KTU – bachelor, master and doctoral. Since this time, more than 3.000 textile engineers, bachelors or masters, and more than 100 doctors graduated textile studies from KTU. KTU is the only one in Lithuania offering studies in textile and fashion engineering.
KTU is a member of the Lithuanian Apparel and Textile Industry Association (LATIA). KTU has several individual cooperation agreements each year in the field of R&D and education for companies of the Lithuanian textile industry. Several projects financed by the EU, the Lithuanian Government or industrial companies are generated every year.
