The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya • BarcelonaTech (UPC) is a public institution of research and higher education in the fields of engineering, architecture, sciences, and technology. The UPC has a widespread presence in Catalonia, with nine campuses located in Barcelona and nearby towns: Castelldefels, Manresa, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Terrassa, and Vilanova i la Geltrú.

The Escola Superior d’Enginyeries Industrial, Aeroespacial i Audiovisual de Terrassa (ESEIAAT), located in Terrassa Campus, is one of the oldest and biggest schools of UPC The ESEIAAT has a wide variety of programs in the industrial, aerospace, and audiovisual fields. Within the industrial field, the programs taught are interdisciplinary, and range from the integrated bachelor's and master's program in industrial engineering to various bachelor's with professional attributions (Electricity, Industrial Electronics and Automation, Mechanics, Chemistry, Technology, and Textile Design), as well as the degree in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development.

The Textile Engineering Section is in charge of coordinating teaching in the field of Textile Engineering at UPC. In this field we offer the Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design and Technology Engineering (GETDT), the Master's Degree in Textile design and Technology (MUDTT), and the Doctoral Programme in Textile and Paper Engineering (ETP). The staff of the Textile Engineering conduct research within the framework of the Textile Technology Research Group (TECTEX) of the Institut d'Investigació Tèxtil i de Cooperació Industrial de Terrassa (INTEXTER).
