Professor Mirela Blaga, is the Director of the Research Centre for Advanced Materials, Products and Processes from Faculty Industrial Design and Business Management (https://erris.gov.ro). She is an expert evaluator at EU commission, for FP7, Vice-chair for Horizon 2020 and HE-MSCA-PF-2021 research programs MSCA, period 2011-2021, the President of AUTEX (Association of Universities of Textiles), for mandate 2019-2022 (http://www.autex.org) and the President of Romanian Section of the International Federation of Knitting Technologists (IFKT). She is also a member of the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi Senate for the mandate 2016-2020 and 2020-2024.
She is member in the Chartered Member of Textile Institute of Manchester (Ctext ATI) and member of the Society of Technical Experts and Consultants from Romania and coordinator of the Faculty Erasmus academic bilateral exchange programs for students and professors, 2012-2021. She has been a project manager coordinator/partner for: 1 DAAD research scholarship, 2 bilateral research projects Romanian – Turkey, 6 EU educational projects (1 LLP project, 5 Erasmus plus), 1 national research project in application of AI in knitting (CNCSIS), 1 CEEX- Module III, promotion of Romania in international scientific environment.
She has been a key note speaker at 5 international conferences: 1 Egypt -2011, 1 Romania-2019, 2 China-2019, 3 India-2020, and a member of 30 scientific committees of international conferences. She is also editor in Chief of the Journal of Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering and member of international journal editorial boards (Autex Research Journal, Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics, Tekstil ve Konfeksiyon), member of 4 international journal editorial boards, scientific reviewer of 13 ISI international journals. Moreover she is an external scientific reviewer for 20 Ph.D Thesis from Universities of India.
In the past, she has been the Chairman of the IFKT 2012 congress (www.ifkt.ro), AUTEX 2015 world textile conference (www.autex2015.ro) and Chairman of the workshops for textile education within "eLearning and Software for Education", ELSE 2013-2020 (http://www.elseconference.eu).
She is a PhD supervisor with 4 PhD students under coordination. Supervisor or co-supervisor of 50 graduate works in knitting technologies 4 master thesis and 5doctoral dissertations in the field of functional textiles.
Finally she has been author of 5 English book chapters, 10 technical books with the main topic in knitting technology and processes (Romanian language), 30 ISI Web of Science indexed papers (ISI journals and ISI proceedings), 110 international conferences articles (50 oral presentations), 32 national journals and 20 national conferences.
