AUTEX Lifetime Achievement Award 2024

Prof. Kanji Kajiwara (Shinshu University, Japan) has been honoured to receive the AUTEX 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment and continued support.

Professor Kanji Kajiwara currently serves as a Special Project Professor for the Fiber Innovation Incubator at Shinshu University. He began his career as a polymer physicist at Kyoto University, where he specialized in studying the properties of synthetic and bio-polymers in dilute solutions, including critically branched polymers. This research naturally extended to the structural analysis of gels using small-angle X-ray scattering with synchrotron radiation. In 1988, he joined the Kyoto Institute of Technology, focusing more on fiber and textile science and advising the government on fiber/textile technology strategy. In 2002, he transitioned to Otsuma Women's University to enhance the educational system for women in textile and apparel fields. Currently, Professor Kajiwara is also a Research Fellow at Shinshu University's Fiber Innovation Incubator and serves as a Coordinator at the Asama Research Extension Center (AREC).
